I totally agree with everything you said. Our dog passed away many years ago but when I used to walk her in the winter I would silently curse all the folks that didn't shovel the sidewalks - so I always clear them all the way. I grew up in Michigan but lived in LA for ~15 years so being back in Illinois I actually enjoy shoveling! We have a snowblower but I'll only use it for the worst snowfalls which are rare these days.

I've been considering a snowblower for the same reasons. It's been in low teens and single digits for days now and I don't want to shiver.
