Through no fault of the restaurants, I believe service is slower these days, which means a dinner at 6 p.m. means a return home at 7:30 or 8. Likewise, a meal that begins at 7 p.m. means I'm not getting home until close to 9. As I age, dining later becomes less appealing due to the lateness of the end of the dining experience.
