Great questions, James! I'd say it's not healthy for us as a society to have so many folks working mutliple jobs to make ends meet or to - dare I say it - thrive. It erodes, in no small part, the family dynamic, the work/life balance, and just plain sanity for people who are having to constantly hustle to make a living. As we finish the Labor Day Weekend, it sure would be nice if we could - as a nation - take a day where 90% of the workforce is actually, you know, not working. I get it, public safety and healthcare need to be functional, but is there any reason - beyond greed ( which is still undefeated after all these years!) - for restaurants, bars, grocery stores, department stores, etc. to be open every day of the year? I can do without my handcrafted coffee a couple times a year. Can others? Can the CEO's bear the thought of not having revenue one day a year?
