My end is to have witnessed, in person, 80 of the most iconic sporting events and/or venues the world has to offer (at least from my perspective) by the time I reach 60. I turned 57 in June and began the quest a few days later at Pinehurst No. 2 for the U.S. Open. As I type this, I'm 11 events in with two more due by the middle of February, another in early March, and one more in mid-March.
